Interior Architect / Spatial Experience Designer
Healthcare, Wellness & Hospitality
24–40 hours per week | Project-based or employment
Based in the Netherlands | Rotterdam / hybrid
AMUD is looking for a refined Interior Architect / Spatial Experience Designer to support our next phase in healthcare, wellness, hospitality and experience-led environments.
This role is for someone with a strong interior architecture background, a high-level design eye and the ability to move from concept to design development. You can translate atmosphere, brand, experience and spatial strategy into layouts, materials, drawings, details, schedules, presentations and coordinated design packages.
You will work closely with the founder and creative director on projects where interiors, healthcare, hospitality, brand experience and human behaviour meet.
The role is rooted in interior architecture, but AMUD’s work often moves beyond the physical space. You may also support user journeys, service touchpoints, research, concept development and presentation storytelling. The main focus remains spatial, but you should be comfortable thinking across disciplines.

AMUD is an interdisciplinary design studio working across architecture, interiors, brand experience, digital experience and strategic concept development. Through AMUD Care, we design healthcare, wellness and performance environments with a focus on human experience, perception, comfort, trust and future-facing care.
The role
You will help translate AMUD’s creative direction into spatial concepts, interior architecture and design-development material, from concept direction to schematic design, design development and coordination with architects, consultants, suppliers and visualizers.
What you’ll do
* Support interior architecture and spatial concept development
* Translate creative direction into layouts, zoning, flow, atmosphere and design proposals
* Develop schematic design and design-development packages
* Prepare plans, sections, elevations, details and design documentation where needed
* Support material palettes, FF&E direction, furniture selection and finish schedules
* Work on healthcare, wellness, hospitality, longevity and high-end interiors
* Prepare client presentations, visual narratives and design documents
* Research references in hospitality, wellness, healthcare, culture and design
* Coordinate with visualizers, architects, consultants, suppliers and external partners
* Support design coordination during technical phases
* Review drawings, details, materials and technical input
Who you are
You are an interior architect with taste, spatial intelligence and a strong understanding of high-end environments. You care about proportion, light, material, rhythm, atmosphere, detailing and how people move through a space.
You are interested in healthcare and wellness, but do not approach them in a clinical or generic way. You understand that future care is also about trust, hospitality, comfort, perception, technology and emotional experience.
Requirements
* Based in the Netherlands
* Background in interior architecture, architecture, spatial design or a related field, preferably at master’s level
* 4–7 years of relevant experience
* Strong portfolio with refined interior architecture, hospitality, wellness, healthcare, luxury or high-end spatial work
* Experience from concept design into schematic design and design development
* Able to produce and review plans, sections, elevations, details, material palettes and design documentation
* Understanding of technical coordination, drawing packages, construction logic and design intent
* Strong sense of taste, proportion, atmosphere, materiality and presentation
* Comfortable working with architects, consultants, suppliers, technical partners and visualizers
* Able to work independently while responding well to creative direction
* Fluent in English
* Comfortable with international projects and occasional travel
* Skilled in Vectorworks, AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, Adobe Suite and/or Figma
Nice to have
* Dutch and/or French language skills
* Experience with medical, wellness, spa, hospitality or clinic environments
* Experience with FF&E, lighting, materials and supplier coordination
* Strong 3D, sketching or visualization skills
* Understanding of brand experience, customer journey or service experience
